The EnterpriseIQ Maturity Model

Six dimensions, four levels. It is the foundation under the EnterpriseIQ Score and the deep Maturity Assessment. A shared yardstick, so you can see where you stand and where you should be.

The model is built on 11+ years of governance and risk work in enterprise (Archer), translated into a reality mid-market firms can act on.

The six dimensions

The whole picture, not just the technology

AI maturity is far more about leadership, data and governance than about how many tools you have. So we measure across six dimensions.

Strategy & leadership

Has leadership written down an AI strategy with measurable goals, and does the board treat AI risk and opportunity as a standing item? Leadership is the leading indicator of whether value actually gets captured.

Data foundation

Do you know where your data lives, who owns it, and is it classified by sensitivity? AI is only as strong as the data foundation you can stand behind.

Technology & tools

How many AI tools are actually in productive use, not just licensed, and is there an approval process before new ones are adopted?

Process integration

How much of your core processes have AI as a measurable part of the workflow, and do you measure ROI on what you start?

People & culture

Are employees trained to use and judge AI, and is there a dedicated AI owner with mandate and time, not just an interested bystander?

06 /

Governance & compliance

Do you have an AI policy for external tools like ChatGPT and Claude, and have you run an EU AI Act system inventory? This is where risk becomes accountability.

The four levels

From exploratory to transformative

The composite score places you at one of four levels. The level is not a grade. It is a starting point for what the next step should be.

01 / 0 to 3.9

Exploratory

AI is not yet an integrated part of operations. There are opportunities, but they need to be structured.

02 / 4.0 to 5.9

Established

Basic foundations are in place. You have first experiences to build on.

03 / 6.0 to 7.9

Integrated

AI is a measurable part of your business. The next step is scaling and governance.

04 / 8.0 to 10

Transformative

You are out in front. Focus is on holding momentum, scaling across the organisation and keeping compliance at enterprise level.

How we measure

Simple to take, honest to read

Twelve questions, five minutes
Two questions per dimension. Short enough for a busy executive to finish, deep enough to give a real picture.
Server-side scoring
The calculation runs on our server, not in the browser. The weighting is ours, but the logic is simple: leadership and process weigh most, because they are the leading indicators of value.
Measured against a baseline
Your score is compared against an expert-anchored baseline grounded in published research. As more firms take the test, we replace the baseline with actual industry medians.
Delivered with an audit trail
The report arrives as a PDF with an audit trail of how it was made. It is part of taking our own medicine.
